Weather delayed but didn’t stop Mill Lighting

The mill windows lit up Thursday evening, to the delight of onlookers.

The annual Lighting of the Mill was postponed a few days this year due to the harsh weather conditions on November 29. Despite the continued cold temperatures, several hardy souls gathered on Thursday evening, December 4, to see the historic Licking Mill light up.

Mr. Claus was on hand for the event, and he led those assembled in a few Christmas carols. After the lights were activated, visitors were invited to visit with Santa inside the mill before retiring to the Rock House Vintage Market next door for cookies and hot cocoa.

Licking FFA members were instrumental in helping to decorate the mill and in serving hot cocoa and cookies at the event. A special thanks goes to them, to Mrs. Suzie Blackburn for organizing the event, and to Mrs. Jean Potts for offering a warm location for those attending to enjoy their hot cocoa and cookies.
