Salvation Army Kettle Drive kicks off

You are invited to volunteer to man the kettle for the Salvation Army Kettle Drive!
The local Salvation Army Kettle Drive kicked off Saturday, November 22, at the Town & Country Supermarket and will run through December 24, 2025.
Last year we fell short of our goal, but with more volunteers stepping up to fill the time slots, we are confident we can reach this year’s county goal of $20,000. To make that happen, we aim to have someone manning the kettle each day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Some reports indicate a manned kettle receives as much as 80 percent more donations than an unmanned one.
Donations stay close to home – over $15,685.67 was used this year in Texas County to help local individuals and families with rent, utilities, housing, transportation, and other essential needs. Eighty percent of all funds raised stay in Texas County, with the remaining twenty percent supporting the main office in St. Louis.
Organizations, school groups, sports teams, civic clubs, and businesses volunteer to cover an entire day in many communities. We’d love for you to consider doing the same!
