Christmas In Our Hometown

Christmas in Our Hometown has been helping children enjoy Christmas for over 25 years. They provide gifts for area children who might otherwise have none that include clothing and toys. Generous volunteers who support the non-profit program give of their time, make monetary donations, or adopt a family. Wish lists are submitted when families apply to the program.
Kassi Ramsey coordinates Christmas in Our Hometown along with a similar program through the Licking R-VIII School District, to ensure each child in the community has a bright Christmas. If you would like to make a donation, adopt a family, or otherwise volunteer your assistance, please contact Ramsey at 417-818-2488.
Applications for families to be included in Christmas in Our Hometown are available on Wednesday and Thursday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Licking United Community Help Center, 209 Park Street, or at Right Away Rent-to-Own & Payday Loans, at the corner of Highway 32 East and Main Street, during business hours, Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Applications MUST be completed and returned by 5 p.m. on Friday, November 14, in order to allow time to shop for gifts.
Volunteers try to stretch the funds as far as possible, shopping on Black Friday and at other sales to find gifts. Early donations are appreciated, however, late donations are also accepted, and if not used this year, will be saved for next year’s Christmas in Our Hometown. Monetary donations or donated gifts are accepted at Right Away Rent-to-Own & Payday Loan during business hours, or donations may be mailed to P.O. Box 52, Licking, MO 65542.
