Obituary – Lois A. Floyd

Lois Ann (Edwards) Floyd, age 76, passed away on October 19, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo., surrounded by her family. Lois was born on February 16, 1949, in Licking, Mo. She was the only child of Lloyd and Mary (Sherrill) Edwards.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Leonard Floyd. To this union they have three children, Angela Alley, Eric Floyd and Amy Emory. They also have five grandchildren, Andrea, Foster, Phillip, Dalton and Dillon; and four great-grands, Brandon, Chelsea, Elaina and Dominic.

Lois grew up in the Licking area and graduated from LHS in 1967. Being an active person let her interact with many people. Working 30 years at Rawlings Sporting Goods allowed her to be a good leader.

She was active at Licking United Methodist Church, teaching Sunday School for many years, singing in the church choir, and serving as needed. Entering church life as a child with her grandmother, Elzina Sherrill, led her to continue outreach mission work inspired by Grandma Sherrill.

Retirement life on the farm shadowing husband, Leonard, was a joy rather than work. Lois’ life with us was shortened because of her dementia disorder and sudden weakened heart. She is singing in the Heavenly choir today.

A visitation for Lois will take place Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 11 to 12 p.m. at the Licking United Methodist Church. A funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.foxfh.net. Arrangements are entrusted to Fox Funeral Home.
