Wildcat Volleyball undefeated in Frisco League Quad

The Licking Lady Wildcats Volleyball team ended their week by going undefeated Saturday in the Frisco League Quad. Licking High School hosted Plato, Laquey and Dixon, and each team faced the other throughout the day.

Licking started their day against Plato and won in two sets, 25-10, 25-16.

In their second match of the day, Licking faced Laquey, again winning in two sets, 25-8, 25-9.

Their final match pitted them against the Dixon Lady Bulldogs. The Lady Wildcats topped the Lady Bulldogs in two sets, 25-11 and 25-9.

Making the Frisco League All Quad Team from Licking were Jadyn Barnes, Kylee Rinne, Hadlee Davis and Penelope Huff.

The Lady Wildcats began their week on Tuesday, facing Steelville on the road. The first set went to Steelville, but it was all Licking after that. Licking defeated Steelville 22-25, 25-16, 25-17 and 25-22.

A trip to Sullivan on Thursday was less of a success, and Licking suffered its only loss of the week, 14-25, 18-25, 18-25.

“Overall we had a good week, as we went 4-1. They are slowly gaining confidence and trust in each other. I am proud as a coach as they are very determined…they stay after practice and work on things they need to get better on,” said Coach Tammy Gorman.
