Cross Country runners continue to improve

The Licking Wildcat Cross Country runners competed with 14 other schools at the Plato Cross Country Meet on September 25. Several personal records were set, and Tyrone Merdian brought home a medal.

Finishing times for Wildcat runners in the Varsity Boys race were as follows: Tyrone Merdian 19:07 (8th), Dawsynn Moore 22:03 (29th), and Caleb Barker 22:31 (31st).

In the Varsity Girls race, results were: Olivia Clayton 32:34 (27th), and Karissa Malikowski 33:32 (29th).

In the Middle School Boys race, Ray Clayton finished in 23:42 (72nd) and Brycen Baker in 23:47 (73rd).

On Tuesday, September 30, Licking again faced 14 other schools, this time at St. James. Again several new personal records were set in the race. Tyrone Merdian finished 10th with a new personal record of 18:50 for a 5K.

Varsity boys finishers were: Tyrone Merdian 18:50 (10th), Caleb Barker 20:15 (23rd), Ethan Stout 20:39 (31st), and Dawsynn Moore 20:44 (32nd).

Finishing times for the Varsity girls were: Karissa Malikowski 31:55 (48th) and Olivia Clayton 33:04 (50th).

Brycen Baker ran the middle school boys race with a time of 15:12 (85th).
