Roby Fair draws a crowd

The Plato High School Class of 2026 float, featuring the quote from Andy Bernard, “I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good old days before you’ve actually left them,” took first place in the parade.

Northwest Texas County celebrated the “Good Ol’ Days” on Saturday at the annual Roby Fair.

The day began with breakfast and the start of the softball tournament at 7 a.m.

The sides of Highway 32 were lined with people in time for the parade at 10 a.m., which made a round trip west from and east back to Walt’s.

Old-time competitions were held throughout the day, with turtle races, tug of war, a watermelon eating contest, sack races, egg toss, a hot dog eating contest, and possibly the most fun of all, a greased pig contest.

Food and craft vendors encircled kids’ inflatables beside the Community Center, and families enjoyed the day at the Roby Fair.
