Barrel Racing fun at Licking Rodeo Arena

This rider was warming up her horse for the Peewee competition in Saturday’s Barrel Race at the Licking Rodeo Arena.

Barrel racers from several generations competed on Saturday at the Licking Rodeo Arena. PeeWee Riders, Youth Riders and Adult Riders could compete for cash prizes in each of their categories and in an Open Category. First, second and third place prizes were awarded.

Two hours of warmups were available to riders before the competition began. This was followed by the PeeWee competition, Youth riders, Adult competitors, and the Open races.

PeeWee winners were Annabelle Light on Teddy, first place; DJ Schober on Perkins, second place; and Sayge Burnett on Mel, third place. Fourth, fifth and sixth place went to Saylor Bates on Taco, Dustin Burnett on Mel, and Braylin Sullins on Winter, respectively.

In the Youth category, 1D placings were Jilaney Gaston on Osages Destiny, first place, with Kaylli Carr on Chico Plain finishing second. Eva Rose on Misty was first in the 2D placings. First in the 3D placings was Jaycee Koch on Moons Jet Fire, followed by Faith Luckey on Cinch, Rachel Luger on Ace, Cactus Bates on Montana, Alyssa Curtis on Winter and Braylyn Conaway on Pie.

Adult riders in 1D placings were Rebecca Hodges on Cruisin Ta Vegas, first; Rebecca Hodges on Kruise Kontrol, second; Morgan Pogue on BHR Some Kinda Socks, third; and Peggy Link on Billie, fourth.

In the 2D Adult placings was Jennifer Todd on Sara, first.

Adult 3D placings were Nikki Wilson on Black Betty, first; Necole Cunningham on Zora, second; Donna Naeger on Hollywood, third; and Emily Burnett on Cashinatthebar, fourth.

Placings in 4D were Brian Inman on Teddy, first; Rachel Wallace on BJ, second; Chris Weber on Kid Rock, third.

The Open results were as follows: 1D Placings: Rebecca Hodges on Cruisin Ta Vegas, first; Vicky Roberts on Smoke Skies, second; Rebecca Hodges on Kruise Kontrol, third; Morgan Pogue on BHR Some Kinda Socks, fourth; Peggy Link on Billie, fifth; and Richie Roberts on Copy Cat, sixth.

2D placings: Jennifer Todd on Sara, first; Jilaney Gaston on Osages Destiny, second; Emily Yaeger on Buy Jordina, third; Dalene Schober on Molly, fourth; Kaylli Carr on Chico Plain, fifth.

3D placings: Necole Cunningham on Zora, first; Ronda McCarter on Scoot, second; Donna Naeger on Hollywood, third.

4D placings: Nikki Wilson on Black Betty, first; Rachel Wallace on BJ, second; Cathy Pepper on Blonde, third; Jaycee Koch on Moons Jet Fire, fourth; Chris Weber on Kid Rock, fifth.
