Ozarks Retirement Solutions opens office in Licking

Financial professional Brett Boyd wanted to open a second office to supplement his Ozarks Retirement Solutions office in Mountain Grove. Licking was one of the three locations he considered. When he came to Licking, he loved the sense of community and knew this would be the perfect place.

Looking for office space was his next task, and he is sure God led him to Amber Dailing at Freedom Financial. Not only did she have office space for rent, her business complemented his (his business emphasizes Medicare related plans and she prefers to deal more with other healthcare insurances).

Ozarks Retirement Solutions offers education and solutions to people who need assistance navigating the confusion of Medicare. They deal with Medicare A, B and D, Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare supplement plans. Although Medicare is their primary business, life insurance, final expense planning, tax-free retirement plans, retirement plans (401K rollovers, etc.), and regular health insurance are also available. A total of 16 agents work with Ozarks Retirement Solutions, and their coverage area extends into other states, with Boyd licensed in 13 states. He had multiple clients in Licking prior to opening the local office, and hopes to grow the business in this area.

Boyd explains that there is not enough education behind Medicare plans, and often people are surprised when they learn about associated costs or limits in coverage after they have chosen their plans. All of the Ozarks Retirement Solutions agents emphasize educating their clients thoroughly in all their options before they choose. They do most of their work out of their cars, traveling to people’s homes to talk about their healthcare needs. Clients come from all walks of life, and many are low income. Agents will ask about a client’s doctors, dentists, medications and other healthcare needs; a needs analysis is part of the education process they undertake.

“When you turn 65, you are vulnerable to a lot of misinformation,” Boyd said. “We make sure people are educated about what plans provide.”

Another part of the Medicare puzzle is working with good carriers. Boyd chooses to work with only about five or six providers that he knows will support the client.

Ozarks Retirement Solutions is a Christian-based organization, with Boyd giving credit to God for putting him where he is today. His father is a pastor and Boyd was raised to help people. He feels his role as a financial professional does just that – helping retirees through the Medicare jungle to ensure they have the proper healthcare coverage.

“At the end of the day, you help people,” he said. “You can transform someone’s life.”

Brett Boyd lives in Mountain Grove with his wife, Alyssa, daughter Kaylee and son Jett. He is excited to become a part of the Licking community as well, and has already visited the Senior Center and Licking United Community Help Center. He believes in giving back and wants to help build community, so he was pleased to learn about the role these organizations and others play in supporting the people in and around Licking.

“I’m very blessed to be a part of this town,” he said.
