Saddle Club holds benefit

The Edgar Springs Saddle Club sponsored a benefit fish fry and dessert auction for Robbie and Robin Dukes, shown in the front row, on Sunday.
The Edgar Springs Saddle Club held a benefit fish fry and dessert auction Sunday afternoon for Robin and Robbie Dukes at the Edgar Springs rodeo grounds. A good turnout was seen, and many desserts were brought for the dessert auction.
Robin Dukes suffered a spinal stroke after a shoulder surgery in February, leaving her paralyzed. Members of the community are rallying around the Dukes to offer support.
Another benefit is planned for Saturday, June 8, at the Hunter Family Farm on M Highway past Flat, Mo. This benefit can be an all day family event or a come-and-go type of event, as you wish. It begins with a Motorcycle Poker Run at 9 a.m. and ends with an ATV/UTV run from 6-8 p.m.
A DJ and open karaoke will be held throughout the day with Mike and Lori Miller, and Stacy Harris will be singing from 2 to 3 p.m.
A fish fry will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., and a chili cookoff with a $100 cash prize will begin at 4 p.m.
Kids games will be available throughout the day.
A dessert auction begins at 1 p.m. and a benefit auction begins at 5 p.m. Many new items have been donated by local and surrounding businesses for the benefit auction.
A 50/50 draw will be done. There is no limit on tickets. A Windham Weaponry AR-15 will also be raffled, with no limit on tickets.
