Obituary – Raymond H. York

 

Raymond Henry York flew home to be with Jesus and his beloved wife, Dorothy, on July 8, 2024, in Cabool, Mo. Raymond was born on October 16, 1948, in Raymondville, Mo., to George Henry York and Susie York. 

Raymond had six sisters, Aleda Oglesby, Syliva Atkinson, Claire Jackson, Geroldine York, Willow York and Goldie York. Raymond had four brothers, Dale York, Bill York, Gene York and Willard York. Raymond was very close to his siblings. 

He loved fishing in a pond with his brothers. He attended Raymondville R-VII School where he graduated eighth grade. While attending there, he loved playing basketball. 

On July 27, Raymond married Dorothy Kay Kell and together they had a daughter, Laura Riedel (Mark), and a son, Kevin York. Raymond and Dorothy were married for 52 years.

Raymond loved to hunt, fish and auctioneer. He worked as a logger and at White National Tuck Point in St. Louis, Mo. Raymond retired in Licking. 

He had six grandchildren, Anthony Thompson, Brittany Calvez (Anthony), Amber Haas (Josh), Trisha Drennen (Clinton), Brandi York and Devin York (Sierra); and fourteen great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. 

A funeral service for Raymond took place Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Fox Funeral Home with Brother Mike Gorman officiating. A visitation took place one hour prior to service time beginning at 12 p.m. at Fox Funeral Home. Burial followed in Boone Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers were Devin York, Calvin York, Josh Haas, Clinton Drennen, Willie Jackson, Rodney York and Randy York. Online condolences may be left at www.foxfh.net.
