Obituary – Barbara F. Fudge

Barbara Faye Hood Fudge, age 78 years, one month and six days, passed away June 2, 2024, in Licking, Mo. Barbara was born April 26, 1946, and was a twin to Byiron Hood. She was born in Manila, Ark., to Doyle and Ola Mae Hood (Lewis). She married James Riley and they shared three children, Gary Riley (Penny), Perry Riley and Regina Vestal.

After the death of her first husband, she married Norman Jackson, and they shared two children, Angela Harris and Norman “Dusty” Jackson Jr. (Angie).

Barbara is preceded in death by her husbands; son, Perry Riley; her parents; siblings, Doris Higgins, Darrell Hood, Carol Wantland, Byiron Hood and JD Hood; nephews, Marty Booker, Darrin Hood, Richie Hood, Leslie Gann and Ted Hood; and niece, Debbie Wantland Wade.

She is survived by her four children; grandchildren, Dalton Vestal (Calan), Dylan Vestal (Alissa), Jacob Mitchell (Brooke), Chelsea Smith (Greg), Courtney Smith (Christian), Alison Eckert, Colin Jackson, Trenton and Elijah Jackson, and Noah Riley; great-grandchildren; and siblings, Howard Hood (Della), Francis Dixion (Jimmy), Alma Booker, and Ronnie “Bo” Hood.

Barbara loved her kids and her flowers. She enjoyed cooking for her family. Every kid on the block knew they could go to Grandma Barb’s for a snack. Her and sister were best friends and loved to fight and argue. Alma will be lost without her. She loved going to church when she was able to and always talked about Brother Everett baptizing her at Mason Bridge in the snow and at 10:30 at night.

A memorial service for Barbara was held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Fox Funeral Home. A visitation was held from 1 – 2 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to Fox Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.foxfh.net.
