Obituary – Alta V. Huff

Alta Virginia Huff, daughter of Clabe and Clara Mae Sullins was born April 28, 1951, in Kinderpost, Mo. She departed her earthly home in Licking, Mo., to be with her Lord and Savior on May 18, 2024, at the age of 73.
Alta is preceded in death by her parents, Clabe and Clara Mae Sullins; brothers, Tilden, Narvel, Dale and Harold Sullins; sisters, Bertha Burgess and Carolyne Huff; mother-in-law, Evelyn Huff; father-in-law, Bert Huff Sr.; brothers-in-law, Benji Gale, Wayne Huff and Joe Huff; sisters-in-law, Beulah Sullins, Kaye Sullins and Pat Sullins; and son-in-law, Michael Naylor.
Alta is survived by her husband, Jimmy Huff; two sons, Scotty Sullins, of Rolla; and Steven Skidmore and wife, Teresa, of Licking; daughter, Gretchen Naylor, of Licking; grandchildren, Chandra Chastain and husband, Rick, of Mary Esther, Fla., Deandra Sullins and fiancé, Rob, of Rolla, Bailey Booker and husband, Steve, of Licking, Owen Skidmore, of Licking, Lucas Green and fiancée, Priscilla, of Catania, Sicily, Cade Sullins and wife, Skylar, of Osage Beach and Makenna Skidmore, of Licking; great grandchildren, Sawyer Chastain, Reggie, Max and Jordyn Stapleton, Hazel, Kennedy and Grayson Sullins; brothers, Harvey Sullins and wife, Carol, and Frank Sullins; sisters, Maybelle Gale, Zedena Ullom and husband, Kenny and Geneva Burgdorf; brother-in-law, Bert Huff; and sister-in-law, Sharon Kay Sullins. She is also survived by Jim’s family in Texas, sisters-in-law, Ellen Duncan, Mary (Steven) Riley, of Amarillo, Texas, and Connie Williams, of Miami, Texas; and brother-in-law, Danny (Alice) Huff, of Miami, Texas; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Some of her favorite pastimes were spent going to yard sales, fishing and camping at the lake, babysitting her grandchildren and special niece Jasmine, going to the casino with Jim, spending time reminiscing and laughing with her sisters, watching her hummingbirds and all holidays spent with her family all together.
After a lifetime of loving the Lord, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior, and followed in Baptism five years ago.
Alta was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was always looking for ways to help her family and friends and felt that God had given her each day to enjoy and live for him. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation for Alta will take place Friday, May 24, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Licking Christian Church. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. on Friday, at the Licking Christian Church with Mr. Rick Mosher officiating. Burial will follow in Craddock Cemetery.
