Obituary – Phyllis L. Jordan

Phyllis Louise Jordan, age 78, was born on June 26, 1948, to Don and Margaret Louise (York) Davis. She went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 10, 2026.

On February 12, 1966, Phyllis married the love of her life, John Lee Jordan. They spent many weekends at the river camping and fishing with life-long friends and family. Not long after they married, Phyllis became a switchboard operator during the overnight hours. She also spent time as a stockman at Carps Super Stores in Rolla, Mo. One of her favorite jobs was running a rural route for the Post Office in Edgar Springs, Mo. She enjoyed visiting with all the people as she delivered the mail. She was known to have picked up groceries at Widener’s store for some of the older ones on her route and dropped them off when she delivered their mail.

Phyllis later took a job at Collectibles in Rolla, where she sewed doll clothes. This turned into something she enjoyed years later when she began making doll clothes and barbie doll clothes for her granddaughters and great-granddaughters. Phyllis also began making costume jewelry. You could often find her going through her beads making bracelets and necklaces while watching the Gaither Homecoming on TV.

Phyllis came to know the Lord as her Savior at a young age. She attended the Assembly of God Church in Edgar Springs for many years and served as their song leader. The past several years, she has faithfully attended Rock Springs Baptist Church in Licking, Mo. She spent time reading her Bible and knew the importance of praying for her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Donald Lee Davis, Edward Andrew Davis, and Garald Eugene Davis; her brother-in-law, Donald Jordan and wife Susan; brother-in-law, Bob House; sisters-in-law, Judy Brookshire and Marcia Myers; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edward James and Ruby Aileen Jordan.

She is survived by her husband, John Lee Jordan; brother, Robert Wayne Davis and sister, Angela Davis; brothers-in-law, Elva Jordan (Barb) and Ted Brookshire; sisters-in-law, Nug Davis, Jane Davis, Alice Davis, Francene House, Holly Jordan and Robin Higley; her two sons, Kenny Lee Jordan (Kim) and John Scott Jordan (Gina); grandchildren, Kaley Ruth Nash (JD), Kaitlyn Lea Drew (Devon), Heston Paul Jordan (Ashlyn), Zane Edward Jordan (Abagail), and great-grandchildren, Tatum Lea and Rhett Michael Drew, Oakley Rae, Finley Dawn, and Jordan Dean Nash; Ava Kate, Johnathan Reid, Judah Paul, and Josiah Clay Jordan; Adabell Jean Louise Jordan and Jackson Dean Edward Jordan due in February 2027. Phyllis found great joy in being a grandma to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to send them a card for every holiday and birthday. She also leaves behind dearly loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Phyllis has left us a legacy of faith in Jesus and dedication to her family that will not be forgotten. She was a woman of immense spirit, competitiveness, strength and fortitude. Although she will be greatly missed, we rejoice and find great comfort in the assurance that those of us who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ will see her again.

A visitation for Phyllis will take place Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Rock Springs Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. at Rock Springs Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Edgar Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Rock Springs Baptist Church in loving memory of Phyllis. Online condolences may be left at www.foxfh.net. Arrangements are entrusted to Fox Funeral Home.
