Obituary – Jo Reppond

Jo Reppond, of Rolla, Mo., passed away Monday, July 27, 2026, at the age of 89.
She was born on June 17, 1937, to the late Frank (F.D.) Luton and Billie (Lowe) Luton. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, E.E. “Rep” Reppond on July 27, 1987; two brothers, Buddy Luton and Johnny Luton; one sister, Anne Aver; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ruby and Everette Reppond.
Jo Reppond (Jody, Mama Jo, JoJo) was so much more than the matriarch of her family. She was an inspiring role model, and was incredibly proud of and involved with each of her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. We are often told she was someone’s favorite teacher; she never missed her kids’ sporting events (and most of the subsequent generation as well). She was a dedicated sports fan, cheering on her beloved Cardinals, the Chiefs, and the Saints, and most recently enjoyed the Savannah Bananas. She was a dedicated bridge player, an avid gardener and a voracious reader. She was fiercely independent and quietly determined, with a side of sass.
Jo was active in Who’s New for many years and was a longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority in Rolla. Born in Monroe, Louisiana, she graduated from Northeast Louisiana Teacher’s College and married E.E. “Rep” Reppond August 30, 1957. She taught in Virginia and California before coming to Rolla. She taught one year in Newburg, and then taught from 1966 until her retirement at Mark Twain Elementary and then Rolla Middle School.
Jo will be sadly missed by her surviving family which includes: a daughter, Pam Bramlett and husband, Jim, of Lenexa, Kan.; two sons, Curt Reppond and wife, Jami, of Edgar Springs, Mo., and Mark Reppond and wife, JoLynne, of Sparta, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Pat and Joanna Bramlett, Angie and Ricky MacDonald, Libby Bramlett and Charles Calloway, Kaitlin and Chris Callen, Hailey Foster, Chance and Marla Reppond, Jordan Reppond, and Lane and Lindsay Reppond; and great-grandchildren, Calvin and Lucas Bramlett, Hannah and Taylor MacDonald, Jay and Corrie Bailey and Quinn Calloway, Ruby, Harper, Lottie and Hank Callen, Hyde and Bronx Foster, and Koe and Rynlee Reppond. She will be greatly missed.
As requested by Mrs. Reppond, cremation will be followed by a private family graveside service.
