SENIOR CITIZEN’S TROUT FISHING TOURNEY

A senior citizen’s trout fishing tournament will be held at Montauk State Park from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 23. It is open to men and women age 60 years or older.

MONTAUK ARBOR DAY

Free tree seedlings will be handed out to park visitors at the park main office across from the lodge from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, April 24.

K OF C FISH FRY

The Knights of Columbus will host a fish fry fundraiser on Friday, April 24, from 4 to 7 p.m., at St. John Catholic Church, West Highway 32, Licking. For carryouts or in town deliveries, call 573-674-4010.

LUMC INDOOR YARD AND BAKE SALE

The Annual Indoor Yard and Bake Sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, at the Licking United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 208 S. Main St., Licking.

MONTAUK BIRD HIKE

Join members of the local Ozark Rivers Audobon chapter at the stone CCC Picnic Shelter for a morning of birding during the peak of spring migration., 8 a.m. to noon, on Saturday, April 25. Beginners through veteran birders are invited. Potluck lunch and BBQ to follow.

BUILDER BASH

Ozark Xpress with Bobby Ray and Miranda Bury will perform at The Resort at Boiling Springs on Saturday, April 25. Music will begin at 3 p.m. and last until 9 p.m. Proceeds from donations and a raffle will go to the Color Guard at the Salem American Legion.

BIKE NIGHT CRUISE-IN

A Bike Night Cruise-In will be held the last Thursday of the month from 6-8 p.m. at Sonic Drive-In in Houston. All bikes welcome. For more information, call Norman at 417-287-7163.

HUTCHASON CEMETERY WORK DAY

A work day and business meeting will be held at Hutchason Cemetery on Saturday, May 2, at 9 a.m.

SPRING 2026 PLEIN AIR

The Spring 2026 Plein Air day will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, at Annunciation Orthodox Christian Church, 14092 Annunciation Hl, St James. All art mediums and all ages are welcome. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. after morning prayers, Watercolor Basics Class is at 9 a.m., Creative paintings plein air, lunch and framing finished artwork 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and constructive feedback session from 4 to 5 p.m. Register by Monday, April 27, at annunciationoca.org/en-plein-air.

SPRING FREE KIDS FISHING DAY

Kids 15 and under fish for free at Montauk each year on the Saturday before Mother’s Day weekend, May 2. Free fishing tags can be picked up at the registration booth near the fish cleaning station from 2-5 p.m. the day prior or all day Saturday during the event. Tags are required before fishing.

RAFFLE FUNDRAISER FOR LICKING RESIDENTIAL

Licking Residential Care is raffling a black 9mm Ruger pistol, new in case with two clips, to raise money for the residents’ activity fund. The raffle will be drawn on May 30, the final night of the rodeo. Tickets may be purchased at Licking Residential, 225 West Hwy 32, Licking, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

NATIONAL CANCER SURVIVORS DAY CELEBRATION

Phelps Health will celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day from 8 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, with a breakfast celebration for area cancer survivors—open to all survivors, regardless of where they receive care. The breakfast is at Greentree Christian Church, 800 Greentree Road in Rolla. This inspiring event will include a free breakfast and T-shirts for survivors. NSDAR MAY MEETING

The Noah Coleman Chapter, NSDAR, is scheduled to meet at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, at Colton’s in Rolla. The annual reports of Chapter Officers and Committee Chairs will be presented. Guests are always welcome.

MUSEUM/BOOK NOOK

The Museum of Art & History and Book Nook, in Licking, have opened for the 2026 season. Hours are Mondays and Tuesdays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

GUN AND QUILT RAFFLE

The Licking Assembly of God invites all to attend their weekly Legacy Service, held from 1 – 2 p.m. every Wednesday. This non-denominational service was begun to provide an option for those who wish to attend a mid-week service held during daylight hours.

Sherrill Township meets at 5:30 p.m. every other Thursday at the township shed located at 11875 South 137, in Licking. The next meeting is April 30.
