County votes in General Municipal Election

Just over 2,000 ballots were cast in the General Municipal Election in Texas County on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. The City of Licking had aldermen on the ballot for both wards, but both were incumbents and both were unopposed. The Licking R-VIII School board was not required to have candidates on the ballot this year, as two incumbents were running unopposed (Debbie Cook and Colton Lewis) and only one person filed for the open seat on the board (Dillion Smith). Other choices on the Licking ballot included the Texas County Hospital Trustee election, in which the incumbent was challenged, and the race for 911 Emergency Service Board Member Dist. 1.
