Obituary – Raymond N. Phillips Jr.

Raymond Nathan Phillips Jr., 73, passed away on February 24, 2026, in Success, Missouri. Born on December 5, 1952, in Niagara, Wisconsin, Raymond was the son of Raymond Phillips Sr. and Doreen Van Ginkel. He lived a life marked by service, dedication, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors and his family.
Raymond proudly served his country in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-6). During his military service, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and received a Certificate of Achievement while serving with the 94th Engineer Combat Battalion (Heavy). His time in the Army included being stationed in Germany, an experience that remained meaningful throughout his life. During his time in Baumholder, Germany, he and his former wife, Renee, also served as foster parents, opening their home and hearts to others.
Following his military service, Raymond pursued his interests in wildlife and land management, earning diplomas in those fields as well as in taxidermy and gunsmithing. He was known for his skilled hands and his passion for working with nature. Raymond enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and repairing firearms. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family
He is survived by his children, Kristin Norris, Anna Phillips, Frank Phillips and Raymond Phillips III; his siblings, Rosie Bjorkman, Rodney Phillips, Rolley Phillips and Robert Phillips; his grandchildren, Ty Norris and Amber Norris; and his great-grandchild, Ella Norris.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
