Community Resurrection Service held at Rock Springs

Pastor John Jordan delivered the message at Sunday evening’s Licking Ministerial Alliance Community Resurrection Service, which was hosted by Rock Springs Baptist Church.
The churches of the Licking Ministerial Alliance held a Community Resurrection Service Sunday evening, hosted by Rock Springs Baptist Church.
Pastor Erin McConnell, of Licking Pentecostal Holiness Church (LPHC), welcomed all to the Palm Sunday Community Service, and recognized the pastors and their wives at each of the member churches: LPHC, Rock Springs Baptist Church, Licking Assembly of God, New Life Free Will Baptist Church, Boone Creek Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Licking and Abounding Hope Baptist Church.
Pastor Brian Collison, of Boone Creek Baptist Church, provided the opening prayer for the evening, and Pastor Matt McGuire, of Abounding Hope Church, asked a blessing for the offering. Pastor Rob Lilly, of First Baptist Church of Licking, recounted the resurrection of Lazarus by Jesus, which showed that Jesus is “the resurrection and the life.” John 12:25
Gina Jordan led the congregation in worship music prior to Pastor John Jordan taking the stage to deliver the message for the service. His message centered on the resurrection power of Jesus Christ. Easter is about the Power of the Resurrection, he explained, and the same power that raised Jesus from the dead can be experienced by all—the power of salvation through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. He looked at this power from three perspectives: 1) the power of the resurrected Jesus; 2) the power of the resurrected person; and 3) the power of the resurrected life. He encouraged the congregation to live by faith and not act like they were powerless, because they had the power of the resurrection. We “can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” (Philippians 4:13) he reminded those gathered. Pastor Jordan asked each person to see what they could accomplish for His glory, to bear fruit and bring glory to God by living a resurrected life, in the power of the resurrection.
After an altar call, Pastor Paul Richardson of Licking Assembly of God gave the closing prayer and asked a blessing on the food, which was served after the service.
