Charges of Stealing and Trespassing filed against Licking man

Louis Gregory Jr., age 63, of Licking, was arrested on February 23, 2026, for charges of felony Stealing – $750 or more, and misdemeanor Trespass – 1st Degree.

A Licking Police Department officer was completing a security check and observed a white Ford pickup on the property of Current River Pole Mill on Staples Lane, Licking. When the deputy drove onto the property, the vehicle fled to the back of the property and parked behind a wood pile. The officer pursued the truck, and Gregory exited the vehicle and began throwing items from the vehicle onto the ground.

When questioned, Gregory said he obtained the items from a pallet inside one of the open-air buildings on the property.

The property owner estimated the value of the items in question at $5,506.90.

Formal charges were filed on February 24. A cash or surety bond of $25,000.00 was set on February 26.
