Members of the Licking Chamber of Commerce met with representatives from several different community organizations Friday at the Licking Police Department (LPD) to give back to the community.
Proceeds from the annual rodeo allowed the Licking Chamber to donate $1,000.00 to each of nine different community organizations this year. Those present on Friday to receive the donations included Fire Chief Bobby Hearty, on behalf of the Licking Rural Fire Department; LHS student Dani Young, representing the Licking FFA chapter; Pastor Paul Richardson, of the Licking Ministerial Alliance; LPD Chief Pat Burton, Cpl. Kenny Santee and Rep. Bennie Cook, on behalf of the Shop With A Hero program; Donnetta James, Director of Licking United Community Help Center; Linda Roberts, representing LovePaks Nutrition; and Elishah Nickels, from the Warriors Christian Academy.
Representing the Licking Chamber of Commerce were Chamber President Kyle Smith, Vice President Brian Friend and Secretary Suzanne Blackburn.
Rainbow Dayschool and Licking Little League were the final two organizations receiving donations, but representatives were unable to attend.
