Obituary – Erich D. Jones

Erich Jones passed away peacefully in his home in Webster Groves on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, after sadly losing his short battle with cancer.

Beloved husband of Susan Jones (nee Frink), loving father of Bradley and Bethany Jones, adoring grandfather of Ryleigh Jones, cherished son of Charlene and the late Larry Jones, dear brother of Bob Holtz and faithful companion Jackie Dukart. Our dearest nephew, great-nephew, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Erich’s story began in Licking, Mo., a small town that shaped his big heart and humble spirit. It was there that his love for the outdoors began, and where he learned the values that would guide him through hard work, loyalty, compassion and a deep love for family.

When Erich was nine he moved to St. Louis with his mom, where he later met the love of his life at Webster Groves High School. Together they built a beautiful life over thirty-one years of marriage, raising two wonderful children who reflect the best parts of him, and welcoming a cherished granddaughter into the world. Becoming a grandfather brought him such pure happiness; it was one of the many blessings that lit up his world.

Erich was a hard worker his entire adult life, eventually landing a job he loved as manager of a screen printing company.

Erich enjoyed three things most of all: family, fishing and football. You could find him at peace with a fishing rod, or cheering from the couch surrounded by the people he loved most. Those were the moments that captured who he was – content, joyful and deeply grateful for the simple gifts of life. He filled his time on this earth with purpose, laughter and love. Erich was someone you could count on and he inspired that same humility and strength in others. Though his 52 years were far too few, he lived them fully. He leaves behind a legacy that proves the measure of a life is not in its length but in its depth. The love he brought into our lives will never fade and we will miss him dearly every day.

God saw you getting tired when a cure was not meant to be. So He wrapped his arms around you and He whispered, “Come to me.” You didn’t deserve what you went through so He gave you much needed rest. God’s garden must be beautiful, He only take the best.”

A memorial visitation will be held at Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois Rd. 63123, Thursday, November 20, from 11 a.m. until the memorial service at 1 p.m., with a celebration of life to follow at Old Orchard Gallery, 39 S. Old Orchard Ave. in Webster Groves, 63119, immediately following funeral services.

Funeral expense donations are greatly appreciated. Monetary donations can be made through Susan Jones on Venmo @Susan-Jones-631.
