Obituary – Kathy J. Thomure

Kathy Jo Thomure was born on December 27, 1961, and departed this life on November 4, 2025, surrounded by her family and friends.
Kathy was a fun-loving, outgoing and compassionate woman whose smile and laughter could light up any room. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like tending to her garden, cooking delicious meals, spending time outdoors, and cherishing moments with her family and friends.
Throughout her life, Kathy worked hard and devoted herself to caring for others. She was employed for many years at Brown Shoe Factory and the George O. White Nursery, as well as in several other roles that reflected her nurturing spirit – especially her time spent caring for a very special young man, Jonathan Boone, who held a special place in her heart.
She is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Mike Thomure, of Summersville, Missouri; her children and their spouses: Katherine (Doug) Pursifull, of Raymondville, Missouri, Bobby Fortune, of Licking, Missouri, Jennifer Bever (Chad), of Licking, Missouri, Christie (Matt) Little, of Licking, Missouri; three step-daughters: Amber, Kristy and Mindy and her step-grandchildren; two sisters: Karen (Mark) Weinberger, of Houston, Missouri, Kimberly (Herb) Akers, of Raymondville, Missouri; nine grandchildren: Briana, Kaylee, Alyssa, Austin, Lillie, Dayllyn, Noah, Ashton and Kinlee; three great-grandchildren: Ember, Scout, Hallie, and two more on the way; her mother, Jean Cole, of Raymondville, Missouri; one aunt: Jewell Lovins, of Doniphan, Missouri; her sisters and brothers-in-law and spouses: Sherri and Wallace Quibodeaus, of Springfield, Missouri, Brad and Rachel Thomure, of Chaffee, Missouri, Jeff and Teresa Thomure, of Summersville, Missouri, Sheila and Mark Balsano, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Robin and Arthur Young, of Mountain View, Missouri, Sandy and Ted Ledbetter, of West Plains, Missouri, Karen and Scott Safranek, of Marshfield, Missouri, Steven Thomure and Angel, of West Plains, Missouri, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Kathy was preceded in death by her brother, Kenny Fortune, sister Patty Fortune, stepson Adam Thomure, her mother and father-in-law Emmett and Roberta Thomure, and one brother-in-law, Rick Thomure.
Kathy will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, November 23, 2025, at the Summersville Christian Church with Pastor Nate Cooper officiating. Services are under the care of Bradford Funeral Home and online condolences may be left at www.bradfordfunerlahome.net.
