Obituary – Mary “Allene” Lynch

Mary Allene Lynch, 88, of Licking, passed away on August 17, 2025, in Springfield, Mo. Allene was born on May 11, 1937, in rural Texas County to Thomas Henry Bogart and Dorothy Dean (Floyd) Bogart.

Allene graduated from Licking High School in 1955. She worked as an administrator in Civil Service at Ft. Leonard Wood, retiring after 35 years of service. Allene married Howard Lynch on August 21, 1959. She enjoyed the beauty of nature, including gardening, flowers, and bird watching. She was an avid reader and enjoyed trying foods from different cultures, new adventures and tour bus adventures. As a teenager, Allene was baptized in Pigeon Creek, near Montauk. Throughout her lifetime she attended Methodist, Baptist, Pentecostal and Assembly of God churches.

Allene is survived by her children, Howard Lynch Jr., Carolyn Lynch, Marilyn Lynch, Mike Washburn and Lisa Washburn; and grandson, Gabriel Butler. Allene is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Lynch; and was the last of five siblings, Margaret, Russell, William and Carl.

Allene will be remembered as a wonderful mother and friend.

A graveside service for Allene will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Hutchason Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Fox Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.foxfh.net.

    Mary was such a dear friend. I so enjoyed out chats over coffee at her farm. She will be sorely missed but remembered so fondly. My deepest condolences to her family and many friends.
