Obituary – David E. McElfresh

David Eugene McElfresh, age 67, of Duke, Missouri, passed away on July 29, 2025. He was born on July 11, 1958, in Licking, Missouri, to Lester Lee McElfresh and Merle (Dowden) McElfresh.
David was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Hershel McElfresh; his nephew, Jason Wilson; and his niece, Tina Harris.
He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa McElfresh, of Duke; his children, David (Heather) Humphrey, Jennifer (Heath) Huff, and Amanda (Michael) Lewis; 11 grandchildren – Elizabeth, Brittany, Oscyrusz, Dawn, Payge, Ty, Calyn, Ethan, Hunter, Corbin and Eli; and six great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his siblings, Beverly Rowe, Janis (James) Curtis, Barbara (Donald) Humphrey and Mark McElfresh.
David was a man who cherished the simple joys of life. He loved spending time outdoors – camping, floating, and fishing – and was a fan of Westerns, both in books and on screen. He enjoyed cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Chiefs, playing dominoes and riding his motorcycle. Above all, David treasured the time he shared with his family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025, at Calvary Fellowship Church, 29570 State Route J, Duke, MO. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 12 p.m.
