STORM SIREN TESTING

Testing of the Licking storm sirens is scheduled to take place at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 18.

SENIOR CENTER CHRISTMAS PARTY

The Licking Senior Center will host a Christmas Party at 3 p.m. on Friday, December 20. You are invited to bring a gift for the gift exchange ($15 limit).

CHRISTMAS CARDS FOR LRC

Twenty residents at Licking Residential Care (LRC) have put on their wish list to receive Christmas cards or mail for the holiday. If you would like to send a card or letter you can send it to: Licking Residential Care, 225 West Hwy 32, Licking, MO 65542.

COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS DINNER

Licking Christian Church, 318 N. Main, is hosting a community Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day, December 25, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. This is a free traditional Christmas dinner and you will not be asked for donations. Delivery is available inside Licking City Limits by calling 573-674-2055 between 10:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Christmas Day. Delivery subject to limits per address.

GUN AND QUILT RAFFLE

The Fleet Reserve Association FRA Branch 364 is holding a Gun and Quilt Raffle. The raffles are in support of college scholarships. For more information call David Herndon at 417-967-0661.

RECOVERY UNDERGROUND

Recovery Underground, a local support group, meets at 6 p.m. on Mondays, a Bible study at 6 p.m. on Thursdays, and Church at 6 p.m. on Saturdays, each week at 108 Main Street in Licking. For more information call Jake Carver at 573-889-7785.

TOPS helps and supports our members in achieving a healthy, balanced lifestyle through sensible habits and lasting change. We meet at 3:45 to 4:30 p.m. on Mondays at the Licking United Methodist Church, 208 S. Main Street. Come visit us to learn more!

GRIEF AND LOSS RECOVERY GROUP

Grief is normal when you experience a great loss, but if it’s been too long, you may need help. We are here Monday evenings at 5 p.m. and open to all! Meeting at the Licking Pentecostal Holiness Church, on the corner of Hwy. 63 and College St., Licking. For more information, call 573-889-9197.

ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS

Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday at the Licking United Methodist Church.

FREE ADDICTION RECOVERY CLASS

A program to help you overcome any form of addiction, based on the doctrine of Jesus Christ. If you or a loved one are struggling, please come! Every Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Hwy. 63 and Hwy. E, Houston.

AOG LEGACY SERVICE

The Licking Assembly of God invites all to attend their weekly Legacy Service, held from 1 – 2 p.m. every Wednesday. This non-denominational service was begun to provide an option for those who wish to attend a mid-week service held during daylight hours.

LYNCH TOWNSHIP

Lynch Township’s meetings are the first Thursday of each month at 6 p.m., at the Lynch Township Shed, 14472 Boiling Springs Road.

SONS OF THE AMERICAN LEGION

Sons of the American Legion (SAL) will meet the first Thursday of each month at the Licking VFW Hall. Meet and greet begins at 4 p.m., with the meeting from 6 – 7 p.m.

DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP

The Phelps Health Diabetes Support Group meets the second Tuesday of each month, from 4 to 5 p.m., at the Delbert Day Cancer Institute. Call 573-458-7314 for information.

SHERRILL TOWNSHIP

Sherrill Township meets at 5:30 p.m. every other Thursday at the township shed located at 11875 South 137, in Licking. The next meeting is January 8.

BOONE TOWNSHIP MEETING

Boone Township meets the second Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m., at the Township Shed, 16245 Highway AF, Licking.

PARKINSON’S AND CAREGIVERS SUPPORT GROUP

The Phelps Health Parkinson’s and Caregivers Support Group meets the third Tuesday of each month, from 2:30 to 4 p.m., at the Delbert Day Cancer Institute. Call 573-458-3007 for information.

WEIGHT LOSS AND BARIATRIC SUPPORT GROUP

The Phelps Health Weight Loss and Bariatric Center hosts a monthly support group on the third Thursday of each month from 5:30–6:30 p.m. in the Phelps Health Private Dining Rooms (located just off the cafeteria). Support persons are welcome to attend as well.

OZARK MOUNTAIN AMATEUR RADIO CLUB

The Ozark Mountain Amateur Radio Club meets the third Saturday of each month, at noon at the Lone Star Annex, 114 W. Main St. in downtown Houston. All are welcome, with young people interested in Ham Radio especially encouraged to attend. We can help with getting your FCC license! Contact Willy Adey at 417-260-4626 for more information.
