CHRISTMAS TOY DRIVE
Sho-Me Disciples CMA #653 will hold a Christmas Toy Drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, at Houston Walmart. Bring a new, unwrapped toy in exchange for a delicious cup of chili or a hot dog. All toys donated will go to the children of Texas County.
CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS STORE
Abounding Hope Church will host a Children’s Christmas Store from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, at the church. Children can shop for up to five gifts, with no item over $1.00. Free gift wrapping for items purchased. Waiting area for parents while children shop.
BREAKFAST WITH SANTA AND PARADE
The Edgar Springs Fire Protection District is hosting the annual Christmas Parade and Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 13. The lineup begins at 10 a.m. at the Edgar Springs Saddle Club for the parade at 11 a.m. Breakfast will be served at the fire station right after the parade. Santa will be on hand with lots of toys for girls and boys. The fire department is asking for more floats, 4-wheelers, side-by-sides and horses to make this a great parade.
NSDAR DECEMBER MEETING
The Noah Coleman Chapter, NSDAR, is scheduled to meet at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, at Colton’s in Rolla. Beth Ayres will introduce “Sleep in Heavenly Peace,” an organization that makes twin beds and supplies bedding for children in our area without beds or bedding. While shopping, remember these less fortunate children and pick up a set of twin size sheets with a pillowcase to bring to the meeting or drop off at The Licking News office prior to the meeting. Guests are always welcome.
STORM SIREN TESTING
Testing of the Licking storm sirens is scheduled to take place at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 18.
CHRISTMAS CARDS FOR LRC
Twenty residents at Licking Residential Care (LRC) have put on their wish list to receive Christmas cards or mail for the holiday. If you would like to send a card or letter you can send it to: Licking Residential Care, 225 West Hwy 32, Licking, MO 65542.
SENIOR CENTER CHRISTMAS PARTY
The Licking Senior Center will host a Christmas Party at 3 p.m. on Friday, December 20. You are invited to bring a gift for the gift exchange ($15 limit).
GUN AND QUILT RAFFLE
The Fleet Reserve Association FRA Branch 364 is holding a Gun and Quilt Raffle. The raffles are in support of college scholarships. For more information call David Herndon at 417-967-0661.

AOG LEGACY SERVICE
The Licking Assembly of God invites all to attend their weekly Legacy Service, held from 1 – 2 p.m. every Wednesday. This non-denominational service was begun to provide an option for those who wish to attend a mid-week service held during daylight hours.

Lynch Township’s meetings are the first Thursday of each month at 6 p.m., at the Lynch Township Shed, 14472 Boiling Springs Road.
SONS OF THE AMERICAN LEGION
Sons of the American Legion (SAL) will meet the first Thursday of each month at the Licking VFW Hall. Meet and greet begins at 4 p.m., with the meeting from 6 – 7 p.m.

PARKINSON’S AND CAREGIVERS SUPPORT GROUP

The Ozark Mountain Amateur Radio Club meets the third Saturday of each month, at noon at the Lone Star Annex, 114 W. Main St. in downtown Houston.
