Lady ‘Cats Volleyball week in review

The Licking Lady ‘Cats traveled to Strafford on Tuesday, September 23, to take on one of the top volleyball teams in Class 3. Strafford is fundamentally sound and the players have a high level of volleyball IQ.

“This was a good game for our girls to see, as they are athletic and do things correctly. It was a faster paced game, which was good for us to see and play against,” said Coach Tammy Gorman.

“The first two sets, we were in a daze, but I thought in the third set we settled down and competed better,” she added.

Final scores against Strafford were 10-25, 8-25 and 14-25.

On Saturday, Salem, Sullivan and Ava came to Licking for the Junior Varsity Quad. The Licking JV squad lost to Salem and Sullivan, and won against Ava.

“We competed this past weekend with each team and got better offensively and defensively. With these girls, some are playing in a position that they are not used to, so we are experiencing growing pains, but it will pay off in the future,” said Coach Gorman.
