The Houston branch of the Texas County Library will be closed through Friday, October 3, while moving to their new building.
FLU SHOT CLINIC
The Texas County Health Department will hold a Flu Shot Clinic on Thursday, October 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Licking Senior Center.
FREE MEDICARE CLASS
The Phelps Health EnrollU team is hosting a FREE “ABCs of Medicare” class to answer questions about the different Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans prior to open enrollment, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, October 3, in Private Dining Rooms 1 and 2 near the cafeteria of Phelps Health Hospital. ROSE HOLLAND TROUT DERBY
The 62nd Annual Rose Holland Trout Derby will be held at Montauk State Park on Saturday and Sunday, October 4-5. Prizes awarded at noon on Sunday. Nature Bingo on Friday at 6 p.m. at campground ampitheater, Old Time Cruise-In Car Show at 3 pm Friday.
MRFD HAM & BEANS DINNER & RAFFLE
Montauk Rural Fire Department will hold a Ham & Beans Dinner & Raffle from 5-7:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, at their firehouse on Highway 119, Salem.
WALKING TACO BENEFIT DINNER
SCCC is holding a benefit Walking Taco Dinner at 5 p.m. on October 17, at Fox Fire House. A walking taco dinner, raffle items, 50/50 raffle and a cake walk will be held. All proceeds go to Texas County Shop With a Hero.
HAUNTING AT THE MILL – MONTAUK
This no-so-scary family-friendly evening of history, mystery and local legends begins with games, crafts and other activities at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, at Montauk State Park. Haunted tours of the Mill’s exterior start at 5:30, 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 p.m.
MONTAUK BAPTIST CHURCH REUNION
Montauk Baptist Church will host a reunion at 2 p.m. on October 19. This will be the 60th reunion for Montauk Baptist, and the reunion will include Hepsoda Baptist Church and Ashley Creek Baptist Church. All are welcome.

AOG LEGACY SERVICE
The Licking Assembly of God invites all to attend their weekly Legacy Service, held from 1 – 2 p.m. every Wednesday. This non-denominational service was begun to provide an option for those who wish to attend a mid-week service held during daylight hours.

MONTHLY MOTORCYCLE CRUISE-IN
The MC Cruise-In at Sonic in Licking, with DJs “Lew & Rick” of “The Road Show DJ service” is back. The motorcycles will be rolling in, we have lots & lots of door prizes & most of all friendly people! T-shirts are available for purchase. The final Cruise-In of the season will be September 25, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Junction of Hwy. 63 & 32. The rain date is the following Thursday. Hope to see you there!
