LHS Athletic Banquet

The smallest team honored at the banquet was likely the Golf Team, coached by Chris Harris. It is also a team which is showing steady improvement each year.

The Licking High School Athletic Banquet was held on Thursday, May 1, at the Sherman Hill Fieldhouse on the secondary campus. Athletes gathered with their families and friends to receive awards and letters.

Coach Tammy Gorman gave the following awards for the volleyball athletes: Offensive Player of the Year – Jadyn Barnes, Defensive Player of the Year – Zoey Dawson, Leadership – Linzie Wallace, Most Assists – Linzie Wallace, Most Improved – Allie Hock, Hustle Award – Aubrey Gorman, Miss Wildcat VB – Aubrey Gorman, Teammate of the Year – Ralee Clayton, and Heart Award – Allie Medlock.

Cross Country Coach Kayla Lewis named Levi Stout as Most Valuable Runner for the season. Ethan Stout earned Most Improved. Titus Scavone won the Wildcat Award for the Cross Country team.

Coach Briana Link presented the Cheerleading awards. The Wildcat Award went to Ashlee Umfleet; Most Valuable Cheerleader was Nicole Paolella; Backspot Ace was Paige Kilby; and Fearless Flyer was Josie Gifford.

Girls Basketball Coach Steve Rissler awarded Hadlee Davis a Newcomer of the Year award, Zoey Dawson was Rebounding Leader, Allie Hock – Scoring Leader, Linzie Wallace – X Factor, Kinley Keaton – Teammate of the Year, Keely Gorman – Most Improved, and Linzie Wallace – Assist/Steals/Blocks Leader.

Coach Chris Harris handed out awards to the Boys Basketball team. Offensive Player of the Year was Roston Stockard, Defensive Player of the Year was Kannon Buckner, Rebound Leader – Jordan Ritz, Assist Leader – Carter Sullins, Most Improved – Will Hackman, Powercat Hustle Award – Kannon Buckner, Teammate of the Year – Carter Sullins, and Leadership Award – Kannon Buckner.

Coach Harris also gave awards for the golf athletes; Roston Stockard – MVP, and Riley Edgar – Most Improved.

For the track team, the coaches named Dylan Hendricks as Most Improved, Diane Gooding was named Teammate of the Year, and Excellence in Track awards were given to Jadyn Barnes, Keely Gorman and Tyrone Meridan.

Coach Faith Sullins awarded Tennis athletes the following awards: Josh Wade – Most Valuable Player, Caleb Owen – Best Strategist, Albert Gyory – Teammate of the Year, Hannah Beasley – Most Hustle, Kara Williams – Wildcat, and Kate Mitchell – Most Improved Player.

Baseball Coach Cole Roark and Softball Coach Christina Medlock had not assigned awards yet due to the amount of their seasons remaining.
