Wildcat Softball second in Conway Tournament

DIXON 16, LICKING 15

PLATO, Mo. – The Wildcats opened their season at the Frisco League Tournament on March 21. Game one was against Dixon where the Wildcats fell 15-16.

Halee Clayton hit for the cycle with four RBIs. Zoey Dawson also homered. Dawson and Mya Rinne had two hits each. Janelle Bates was the losing pitcher, giving up only four earned runs as errors plagued the Wildcats.

PLATO 16, LICKING 4

PLATO, Mo. – In game two, the Wildcats faced the Plato Eagles where they came up short, losing 4-16.

Mya Rinne led the Wildcats, going two-for-two. Kimree Brazier, Bates, and Clayton also added hits. Brazier took the loss on the mound.

LICKING 18, CONWAY 3

CONWAY, Mo. – Licking traveled to Conway March 24, picking up the road win 18-3.

Brazier led the offensive attack, going three-for-three and scoring four runs with three stolen bases. Allie Medlock homered. Clayton, Aubrey Gorman and Bates had multiple hits. Bates was the winning pitcher. Dawson, Rinne, Alaina Rogers and Ava Breeden also collected one hit apiece.

LICKING 14, SUMMERSVILLE 6

SUMMERSVILLE, Mo. – On the road again, Licking traveled to Summersville the following day and brought home a win of 14-6.

Dawson led the offensive attack, going three-for-four with a home run and four RBIs. Rinne also collected two RBIs. Brazier went two-for-three with four stolen bases. Bates was the winning pitcher and Brazier collected the save.

AVA 12, LICKING 2

LICKING, Mo. – Licking’s home opener was against Ava on March 27. The Wildcats lost 2-12.

Rinne led the offense, going three-for-four with two RBIs. Brazier took the loss on the mound. Clayton, Gorman, Dawson and Taylor Hicks also had one hit each.

WILLOW SPRINGS 17, LICKING 5

LICKING, Mo. – The Wildcats faced Willow Springs at home the following day, losing 5-17. Rinne, Dawson, and Kadyn Hall collected two hits each. Breeden and Clayton also had a hit apiece. Bates had the loss on the mound.

LICKING 24, WINONA 3

WINONA, Mo. – The Wildcats traveled to Winona on March 31, and picked up the 24-3 win.

Medlock had four RBIs and four runs scored. Dawson had two hits and Brazier also had two hits with three RBIs. Rinne, Hicks and Lily Godi had one each. Godi also added four RBIs. Bates got the complete game win for the Wildcats.

LICKING 22, STOUTLAND 14

STOUTLAND, Mo. – A huge night from Clayton, Rinne and Medlock propelled Licking to victory against Stoutland on April 1, with a score of 22-14.

Clayton was three-for-four including a home run and four RBIs. Rinne was two-for-four with five RBIs. Medlock was two-for-five with a home run and three RBIs. Dawson, Brazier and Breeden also chipped in one hit apiece. Bates had a complete game win on the mound for the Wildcats.

LICKING 13, MTN.VIEW 6

LICKING, Mo. – The Wildcats defeated Mountain View-Liberty at home 13-6, on April 8.

Dawson led the ’Cats with three hits, including two triples and an RBI. Clayton, Gorman and Medlock collected two hits each. Medlock had an inside-the-park home run. Bates and Breeden also had a hit apiece. Rinne chipped in three RBIs. Bates got the win on the mound.

LICKING 14, DIXON 9

DIXON, Mo. – On April 9, the Wildcats traveled to Dixon to avenge their early season loss, winning 14-9.

Dawson collected three hits and three RBIs, with a home run and three stolen bases. Rinne went three-for-four with three runs scored. Clayton added two hits. Gorman, Medlock, Breeden and Rogers added one hit apiece. Gorman and Rogers each had two RBIs. Brazier picked up the win on the mound, Bates with the save.

LICKING 16, HOLLISTER 2

CONWAY, Mo. – The Wildcats competed in the Conway Tournament April 11-12, going 2-1 and bringing home the second place trophy. In game one, the Wildcats defeated Hollister 16-2.

Clayton went four-for-four with three runs scored on the night. Dawson went two-for-two with three runs and three RBIs. Gorman went two-for-two with two RBIs. Rinne and Medlock also added two hits apiece. Bates collected a hit with two RBIs and was the winning pitcher.

LICKING 13, MANSFIELD 3

CONWAY, Mo. – In game two the Wildcats faced Mansfield, winning 13-3.

Clayton went three-for-three with two RBIs. Brazier was two-for two with three RBIs and four runs scored with three stolen bases. Rinne, Dawson, Gorman, Bates and Breeden also had hits. Bates was the winning pitcher with Brazier with the save.

BUFFALO 14, LICKING 0

CONWAY, Mo. – The Wildcats were blanked by Buffalo in the championship game with a score of 0-14.
