STORM SIREN TESTING

Testing of the Licking storm sirens is scheduled to take place at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 17.

RAYMONDVILLE COMMUNITY FAITH CRUSADE

The Raymondville Community Faith Crusade will be held April 6-20 at Raymondville Community Church, 225 E. State Rte. B, Raymondville. Services will begin at 7 p.m. Guest speakers include Kevin Evilsizer, Jim Root, John Nutt, Gary Davenport, Tim Chitwood, Charles Felkner, Big Brother Ministry, Jason Akers and Charles Felker.

AMERICAN LEGION RAFFLE

American Legion Post 559 will raffle a Stevens 12-gauge pump Model 320 shotgun on April 18, 2025. Call 573-842-3853 for more information.

NSDAR MARCH MEETING

The Noah Coleman Chapter, NSDAR, is scheduled to hold their April meeting at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 19, at Sybill’s in St. James. The topic will be DAR Good Citizens Awards. Call 573-259-2102 for more information. Guests are always welcome.

11TH ANNUAL SPRING BEST MUSIC SHOW

The 11th Annual Spring BEST Music Show will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, at the Eminence High School Old Gym. Free admission, a basket will be passed for donations, and money raised will be used for Eminence R-1 School projects. Lonesome Road Bluegrass and Haversticks with Bressler Cousins are featured. Preshow by Redwings Band. Free refreshments, door prize drawing.

EASTER SERVICES

The Edgar Springs First Baptist Church will begin Easter services on April 20, with an 8 a.m. Sunrise Service, followed by breakfast made by the church men at 8:30 a.m. Sunday School will begin at 10 a.m. followed by 11 a.m. Morning Worship. An Easter Egg Hunt will be held at noon.

LISTENING TO AMERICANS TOWN HALL MEETING

Bring your stories, your concerns and your ideas about how this administration could be improving life for families in the 8th Congressional District to a Town Hall Meeting, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, at the Phelps County Courthouse Meeting Room, 200 N Main Street, Rolla. Sponsored by Voters for Informed Action.

MONTAUK EVENTS

Montauk State Park is having a Senior Citizens’ Trout Fishing Tournament from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 24. Any man or woman 60 years of age or older may participate. Two classes, fly or bait, with two prizes to winners in each class for heaviest trout and heaviest stringer of trout. Registration at Dorman L. Steelman Lodge.

Friday, April 25 is Montauk Arbor Day. Free tree seedlings, courtesy of George O. White Nursery, will be handed out to park visitors at the park main office across from the lodge from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Saturday, April 26, a bird hike will take place from 8 a.m. to noon. Meet at the stone CCC Picnic Shelter. Wear something comfortable to walk in and bring binoculars if you have them. Potluck lunch and BBQ afterwards.

MONTHLY MOTORCYCLE CRUISE-IN

April 24 begins the 2025 season of the MC Cruise-In at Sonic in Licking. DJs “Lew & Rick” of “The Road Show DJ service” are back with some great tunes. The motorcycles will be rolling in, we have lots & lots of door prizes & most of all friendly people! T-shirts are available for purchase. Cruise-Ins are the last Thursday of each month. April–September, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Junction of Hwy. 63 & 32. The rain date is the following Thursday from that date. Hope to see you there!

RESIDENT FUNDRAISER

Licking Residential Care residents are having a fundraiser for their Activity Fund. They will host a yard sale on April 24th and 25th. Donations are being accepted; bring donated items to the facility.

SOUTH CENTRAL WALK WORTHY CONFERENCE

South Central Walk Worthy Inter-Denominational Women’s Conference “I Will Make a Way” will be held Friday, April 25, 6:30-9:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 26, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., at Liberty High School, Mountain View, Missouri. MOSTACCIOLI & SPAGHETTI DINNER

The Licking Senior Center will be hosting a fundraising Mostaccioli and Spaghetti Dinner on Sunday, May 4, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dinner includes choice of spaghetti or mostaccioli, Italian salad, bread, dessert and drink. Carryout and deliveries will be available.

GUN AND QUILT RAFFLE

The Fleet Reserve Association FRA Branch 364 is holding a Gun, Quilt and Large Ceramic Planter Raffle. The raffles are in support of college scholarships. For more information call David Herndon at 417-967-0661.

TEXAS COUNTY MUSEUM OF ART & HISTORY

The Texas County Museum of Art & History and the Book Nook is open for the season. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays and Tuesdays.

RECOVERY UNDERGROUND

Recovery Underground, a local support group, meets at 6 p.m. on Mondays, a Bible study at 6 p.m. on Thursdays, and Church at 6 p.m. on Saturdays, each week at 108 Main Street in Licking. For more information call Jake Carver at 573-889-7785.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday at the Licking United Methodist Church.

FREE ADDICTION RECOVERY CLASS

A program to help you overcome any form of addiction, based on the doctrine of Jesus Christ. If you or a loved one are struggling, please come! Every Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Hwy. 63 and Hwy. E, Houston.

AOG LEGACY SERVICE

The Licking Assembly of God invites all to attend their weekly Legacy Service, held from 1 – 2 p.m. every Wednesday. This non-denominational service was begun to provide an option for those who wish to attend a mid-week service held during daylight hours.

KIDS AT THE CREEK

The Kids at the Creek Program at Boone Creek Baptist Church meets every Wednesday that school is in session, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., with a light dinner, Bible study, crafts and music.

KIDZ CLUB/ YOUTH GROUP

First Baptist Church Kidz Club, ages 4 years through 6th grade, will meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 223 Main Street, and will be served a meal. If your child needs a ride, contact the church at 573-674-3141.

LYNCH TOWNSHIP

Lynch Township’s meetings are the first Thursday of each month at 6 p.m., at the Lynch Township Shed, 14472 Boiling Springs Road.

SONS OF THE AMERICAN LEGION

Sons of the American Legion (SAL) will meet the first Thursday of each month at the Licking VFW Hall. Meet and greet begins at 4 p.m., with the meeting from 6 – 7 p.m.

DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP

The Phelps Health Diabetes Support Group meets the second Tuesday of each month, from 4 to 5 p.m., at the Delbert Day Cancer Institute. Call 573-458-7314 for information.

SHERRILL TOWNSHIP

Sherrill Township meets at 5:30 p.m. every other Thursday at the township shed located at 11875 South 137, in Licking. The next meeting is April 17.

BOONE TOWNSHIP MEETING

Boone Township meets the second Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m. Meeting is at the Township Shed, 16245 Highway AF, Licking.

PARKINSON’S AND CAREGIVERS SUPPORT GROUP

The Phelps Health Parkinson’s and Caregivers Support Group meets the third Tuesday of each month, from 2:30 to 4 p.m., at the Delbert Day Cancer Institute. Call 573-458-3007 for information.

OZARK MOUNTAIN AMATEUR RADIO CLUB

The Ozark Mountain Amateur Radio Club meets the third Saturday of each month, at noon at the Lone Star Annex, 114 W. Main St. in downtown Houston. Licking Bridge Builders has transportation available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. To ride the bus, please make your appointment at least a day in advance by calling 573-674-3558 and talking with a volunteer.
