Licking Track competes at Cuba

The Running Wildcats opened the 2025 track season at Cuba on March 31.

For the girls’ team, athletes finishing in the top six in their events included:

Jadyn Barnes opened her junior season with an incredible throw in the javelin of 41.64m. She broke the meet record and set a new LHS school record in the process. Sophomore sprinter Keely Gorman had a nice day winning the 100m open and placing second in the 200m and the Long Jump. She also anchored the second place 4x100m relay squad that also included Kylee Rinne, Sadie Hutsell and Jayde Thompson. Kylee Rinne scored in the sprint hurdles, finishing fifth. Jayde Thompson finished third in the triple jump, Sadie Hutsell sixth in the Pole Vault, Ava Walker scored in the discus finishing fifth and Morgan Stone scored in both Shot and Disc winning fourth and sixth respectively.

For the boys’ team, athletes finishing in the top six in their events included:

Sophomore Ethan Stout led the way for the boys team with a third place in Pole Vault and a fourth in 300m Hurdles. Senior thrower Gio Chalmers also scored in two events with a fourth in discus and fifth in shot.
