Lady ’Cats place second in Mountain Grove Holiday Tournament

MOUNTAIN GROVE, Mo. – Licking competed in the Mountain Grove Holiday Tournament last week, finishing second in the tournament to the host team, Mountain Grove.

MTN. GROVE 64, LICKING 43

Licking faced the Mountain Grove Lady Panthers in the Championship game on Saturday, December 28. Despite playing with determination and grit throughout the game with a couple of players absent from the squad, the Lady Wildcats came up short, but brought home the second place plaque.

Scoring for Licking were Linzie Wallace 9, Kinley Keaton 9, Hadlee Davis 6, Addison Floyd 6, Zoey Dawson 5, Kylee Rinne 4 and Keely Gorman 2.

LICKING 60, ALTON 51

In a rematch on Friday against the Alton Lady Comets, Licking again came out on top, even without their leading scorer. The semifinal win advanced them to the championship game.

Scoring for Licking were Hadlee Davis 20, Kinley Keaton 11, Keely Gorman 10, Linzie Wallace 6, Addison Floyd 6, Zoey Dawson 5 and Kylee Rinne 2.

LICKING 68, VAN BUREN 34

In their first game of the tournament on Thursday, December 26, Licking faced Van Buren, who defeated Salem in their play-in game. Licking won handily over Van Buren, 68-34.

Licking scoring was led by Linzie Wallace with 17 points, Hadlee Davis had 16, Zoey Dawson 11, Keely Gorman 10, Kinley Keaton 9, Addison Floyd 2, Morgan Stone 2 and Jayde Thompson 1.
