Senior Night Volleyball

Nine LHS volleyball seniors were honored Thursday evening between the Junior Varsity and Varsity matches against Salem.

Harlie Buchanan was escorted by parents Donald and Christina Buchanan. She has been playing volleyball for seven years. She is also involved in Art Club, Science Club, NHS and Student Council. In the future, she would like to attend college and major in Psychology to become a therapist.

Ralee Clayton, a 10-year volleyball player, was escorted by her parents, Dalton and Rachel Clayton. She is also a member of NHS, Student Council, FCCLA, Science Club, and is the Senior Class Treasurer. Ralee plans to attend MSU-West Plains and obtain a general studies degree.

Zoey Dawson, escorted by parents Derek and Reta Dawson, has played volleyball for 11 years. Other activities in which she participates include Basketball, Softball, FCA and FCCLA. She will be attending a technical school to obtain a certificate in Pet Grooming.

Francesca Filippi, an exchange student, was escorted by her host parents, Jacob and Pegan Butherus. She has been playing volleyball for eight years, and plans to major in nutrition in college.

Aubrey Gorman was escorted by parents Kenny and Kristi Gorman. An 11-year volleyball player, Aubrey is also involved in Softball, FCCLA, FCA and Art Club. She plans to pursue a degree in dental hygiene after graduation.

Allie Hock, a six-year volleyball player, was escorted by parents Jory and Roxanna Hock. She is also involved in Basketball, and plans to attend Missouri Welding Institute and become certified in Welding after high school.

Kinley Keaton, the team manager, was escorted by parents Freddy and Renee Keaton. She also participates in Basketball, NHS, FCCLA and Pep Club. She plans to attend East Central College in Rolla and major in Nursing.

Allie Medlock was escorted by parents Chris and Chrissy Medlock. She is an eight-year volleyball player and is also involved in Softball, NHS, FCCLA and FCA. Allie plans to attend MSU-West Plains and major in Elementary Education.

Linzie Wallace, escorted by parents Bobby and Robin Wallace, is an 11-year volleyball player. She also is involved in Basketball, FCCLA, NHS and is the Senior Class President. She will be attending MSU-West Plains to obtain a degree in General Studies.

The Lady ‘Cats made their Senior Night more special by defeating Salem in three sets, 25-14, 25-15 and 25-17.

The JV squad were less fortunate, but took it to three sets before losing the best of three match to Salem, 25-18, 21-25 and 16-25.

The Licking Classic Volleyball Tournament was held Saturday, with the round robin tournament held between the Sherman Hill Field House and the FEMA gym. Licking finished third at the end of the day, defeating Summersville, Couch, Salem and Eminence, and falling to Cabool and Willow Springs.
