STORM SIREN TESTING

Testing of the Licking storm sirens is scheduled to take place at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 17.

FISH FRY

A Fish Fry will be held Friday, October 18, from 4 to 7 p.m., at St. John Catholic Church in Licking. They will be serving fish, fries, brown beans, coleslaw, desserts and drinks. For carryouts, call 573-674-4010.

ROSEBERRY CEMETERY MEETING

The Roseberry Perpetual Care Cemetery Association will meet Sunday, Oct. 20, at 2:30 p.m. at Roseberry Cemetery, 32000 County Road 6310, near Craddock, between Licking and Edgar Springs. All interested parties are welcome to attend.

GOSPEL CONCERT

Mark Bishop will be in concert at 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, at Abounding Hope Church in Licking.

NOAH COLEMAN CHAPTER NSDAR MEETING

The Noah Coleman Chapter, NSDAR, is scheduled to meet at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, October 19, at Sybill’s in St. James. The program will be “One Vet’s Vietnam War Experience,” by Tom Burhkuhl.

A HAUNTING AT THE MILL

Montauk Mill will host their annual Haunting at the Mill event on Saturday, October 19, with show times at 5, 6, 7 and 8 p.m. There is a limit of 45 per show.

OPEN HOUSE & MUSICAL JAM

Bring your instrument and join local musicians playing gospel and Ozark music at Mt. Zion, Akers, Mo., from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 25. Crafts will be available for children and adults to create. Learn the culture and stories of the Current River people. 573-226-3945.

BLOOD DRIVE

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive from 2 to 6 p.m. on Monday, October 28, at the Parish Hall, 222 West Highway 32, Licking. Call 1-800-RED CROSS or visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter LICKING to schedule an appointment.

LRC TRICK OR TREAT HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION

Licking Residential Care is inviting the public to come dressed up to see the residents on Saturday, October 26, from 3 to 5 p.m. It will be an outside event.

GOSPEL SINGING

Abounding Hope Church Homecoming will be Sunday, November 3. 4 Calvary will perform at 10:30 a.m. A dinner will follow at noon.

TEXAS COUNTY MUSEUM OF ART & HISTORY OPEN

The Texas County Museum of Art & History is open on Monday and Tuesday for the season.

GUN AND QUILT RAFFLE

The Fleet Reserve Association FRA Branch 364 is holding a Gun, Quilt and Large Ceramic Planter Raffle. The raffles are in support of college scholarships. For more information call David Herndon at 417-967-0661.

RECOVERY UNDERGROUND

Recovery Underground, a local support group, meets at 6 p.m. on Mondays, a Bible study at 6 p.m. on Thursdays, and Church at 6 p.m. on Saturdays, each week at 108 Main Street in Licking. For more information call Jake Carver at 573-889-7785.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday at the Licking United Methodist Church.

FREE ADDICTION RECOVERY CLASS

A program to help you overcome any form of addiction, based on the doctrine of Jesus Christ. If you or a loved one are struggling, please come! Every Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Hwy. 63 and Hwy. E, Houston.

KIDS AT THE CREEK

The Kids at the Creek Program at Boone Creek Baptist Church meets every Wednesday that school is in session, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., with a light dinner, Bible study, crafts and music.

KIDZ CLUB/ YOUTH GROUP

First Baptist Church Summer Kidz Club, ages 4 years through 6th grade, will meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 223 Main Street, and will be served a meal. If your child needs a ride, contact the church at 573-674-3141.

LYNCH TOWNSHIP

Lynch Township’s meetings are the first Thursday of each month at 6 p.m., at the Lynch Township Shed, 14472 Boiling Springs Road.

DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP

The Phelps Health Diabetes Support Group meets the second Tuesday of each month, from 4 to 5 p.m., at the Delbert Day Cancer Institute. Call 573-458-3007 for information.

SHERRILL TOWNSHIP

Sherrill Township meets at 5:30 p.m. every other Thursday at the township shed located at 11875 South 137, in Licking. The next meeting is October 17.

BOONE TOWNSHIP MEETING

Boone Township meets the second Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m. Meeting is at the Township Shed, 16245 Highway AF, Licking.

PARKINSON’S AND CAREGIVERS SUPPORT GROUP

The Phelps Health Parkinson’s and Caregivers Support Group meets the third Tuesday of each month, from 2:30 to 4 p.m., at the Delbert Day Cancer Institute. Call 573-458-3007 for information.

OZARK MOUNTAIN AMATEUR RADIO CLUB

The Ozark Mountain Amateur Radio Club meets the third Saturday of each month, at noon at the Lone Star Annex, 114 W. Main St. in downtown Houston. TEXAS COUNTY TRANSPORTATION

Licking Bridge Builders has transportation available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. To ride the bus, please make your appointment at least a day in advance by calling 573-674-3558 and talking with a volunteer.
