Licking Volleyball defeats Willow Springs

LICKING, Mo. – It was a long evening for the Licking Lady ‘Cats on Monday, September 16, as their contest against the Willow Springs Lady Bears went five sets with many points battled over by both teams. In the end, Licking triumphed on their home court, 24-26, 25-15, 22-25, 25-22 and 15-6.
Linzie Wallace set up the offense with 44 assists and also had 15 digs in the match. Aubrey Gorman contributed 16 digs and offensively had four aces. Jadyn Barnes had a good evening with 16 kills, 5 aces and 15 digs. Zoey Dawson led kills with 17 and had 14 digs. Allie Hock had four aces, 12 kills and three kill blocks.
The Junior Varsity also defeated Willow Springs, coming back after losing the first set to take the next two. Scores were 23-25, 25-22 and 25-21.

LICKING 1, CABOOL 3
CABOOL, Mo. – On Tuesday, Licking traveled to Cabool, and despite winning the first set, dropped the next three, 25-21, 24-26, 24-26, 15-25.
Aubrey Gorman led defense with 31 digs and led in aces with 6. Linzie Wallace had 22 digs, three aces and 28 assists. Zoey Dawson also had 22 digs. Jadyn Barnes led kills with 13 and Allie Hock had 11 kills.
Junior Varsity won in two sets, 25-20 and 25-15. The C team played one set and came out on top, 25-23.
Strafford is scheduled to come to Licking Tuesday, and the Junior Varsity squad is looking forward to the Licking JV Tournament on Saturday, September 28.
