Lady ’Cats defeat Lady Tigers

Senior Allie Hock (6) had 17 kills and 4 kill blocks, and senior Linzie Wallace (12) had 12 digs and 43 assists in the Houston match.

The Licking Lady ’Cats Volleyball team highlighted their week with a win over Houston on Thursday night at their home court.

After falling in the first set 24-26, the ladies picked up their game and took the next three, 25-22, 25-20 and 25-23.

Hadlee Davis and Aubrey Gorman each had three aces, Allie Hock led kills with 17, followed by Jadyn Barnes 13 and Zoey Dawson 11. Allie Hock had four kill blocks. Aubrey Gorman led digs with 18, Zoey Dawson had 17 and Linzie Wallace 12. Wallace also had 43 assists.

The JV Lady ’Cats also defeated Houston, 25-19 and 25-16.

Earlier in the week, Licking faced Mountain Grove in their first home game of the season. They took it to 5 sets, but lost to the Lady Panthers 12-25, 12-25, 25-18, 25-21, and 6-15.

The JV squad came away with a victory, 25-18 and 25-21.

Saturday saw the ladies traveling to West Plains for their Showdown. They lost to West Plains and Eldorado Springs, and defeated Doniphan to advance to the Silver Bracket, where they fell to Spokane in three sets, 25-19, 17-25 and 12-25.
