BATES FAMILY REUNION

The James Bradford Bates Family Reunion will be held, with doors to open at 10 a.m., at the Fox Community Room in Licking on Saturday, June 29. Lunch will be noon; please bring a side dish.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

The Licking Independence Day Celebration will be held Saturday, June 29, at Deer Lick Park. Food trucks and vendors start at 5 p.m., with fireworks after dark.

QUILT RAFFLE AT LICKING RESIDENTIAL

A king size quilt w/ pillow shams, embroidered by LRC residents, set together by Melvalee Watson, quilted by Mary Sullins, will be raffled to raise money for the residents’ activities fund. Drawing on June 29, at Independence Day celebration. Tickets available at LRC.

MMRA RODEO

A Mid Mo Rodeo Association Rodeo will be held beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 28, and 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, at the Edgar Springs Saddle Club, County Road 6127, Edgar Springs. For more information call Chris at 573-205-9866.

TCMH LICKING CLINIC GRAND OPENING

The Texas County Memorial Hospital Licking Clinic will hold a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony from 2 – 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, at the new location, 139 W. Hwy. 32. All are invited!

TEXAS COUNTY FAIR

The Texas County Fair will be held Tuesday, July 9 through Saturday, July 13, at the Texas County Fair Grounds.

DEMOCRATIC CLUB STUMP PICNIC

The Democratic Club of Phelps County will hold the annual Stump Picnic beginning at 11 a.m., lunch at 11:30 a.m. and speakers at 12:30 p.m., at Lion’s Club Park, Rolla, on Saturday, July 13. SUMMER FOOD PROGRAM

A Summer Food Program will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Licking Assembly of God church lobby every Thursday through the summer. Open to all school age children on a first come-first serve basis. One pre-packed bag of food, per week, per child.

LUMC FARMERS MARKET

The Licking Farmers Market will be held 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. every Wednesday and Saturday, now through August 24, at the Licking United Methodist Church parking lot.

TEXAS COUNTY MUSEUM OF ART & HISTORY OPEN

The Texas County Museum of Art & History is open on Monday and Tuesday for the season.

GUN AND QUILT RAFFLE

MOTORCYCLE CRUISE-IN

The 15th season of MC Cruise-In will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Sonic in Licking, the last Thursday of the month through September, with a rain date of the following Thursday. Join DJ Lew of the Road Show DJ service as he plays great tunes, win door prizes and enjoy the company of fellow bikers.

SUMMERSVILLE CHESS CLUB

Come to Feels Like Home (on the square, next to the Summersville Library) on Saturdays from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. to play the “Game of Kings.” All are encouraged to come and play. No need to sign up, just show up and have some fun!

OZARK MOUNTAIN AMATEUR RADIO CLUB

The Ozark Mountain Amateur Radio Club meets the third Saturday of each month, at noon at the Lone Star Annex, 114 W. Main St. in downtown Houston. SHERRILL TOWNSHIP

Sherrill Township meets at 5:30 p.m. every other Thursday at the township shed located at 11875 South 137, in Licking. The next meeting is June 27.

LYNCH TOWNSHIP

Lynch Township’s meetings are the first Thursday of each month at 6 p.m., at the Lynch Township Shed, 14472 Boiling Springs Road.

BOONE TOWNSHIP MEETING

Boone Township meets the second Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m. Meeting is at the Township Shed, 16245 Highway AF, Licking.

TEXAS COUNTY TRANSPORTATION

Licking Bridge Builders has transportation available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. To ride the bus, please make your appointment at least a day in advance by calling 573-674-3558 and talking with a volunteer.
