Lady ’Cats compete in State Track meet

Six members of the Licking Lady Wildcats Track & Field team earned the opportunity to participate in the Class 2 State Track Championship at Adkins Stadium, Jefferson City High School on Friday, May 17. Jadyn Barnes competed in Javelin; Finley Sullins competed in Long Jump, 100m Dash, 200m Dash, and 4x100m Relay with teammates Hannah Medlock, Keely Gorman and Kylee Rinne; and Sadie Hutsell pole vaulted.

Barnes made it to the podium with a seventh place finish.

Sullins finished ninth in Long Jump, twelfth in the preliminary race for the 100m Dash and 15th in the preliminary race for the 200m Dash.

The 4x100m Relay team of Sullins, Medlock, Gorman and Rinne also ranked 15th after the preliminary race.

Hutsell did not place in Pole Vault.

Each of these athletes proved their skill, performing well at Districts and Sectionals to advance to State. Several school records were broken this year, making it a higher bar for upcoming teams to strive to meet and surpass. Congratulations to them and the entire team for a great Track & Field season!
