Obituary – Penelope M. Huff

Penelope Mya Huff, 15, daughter of John Huff and Camerin (Heithold) Fester was born August 2, 2011. She tragically passed away November 1, 2026.

Penelope is survived and dearly missed by her parents John and Camerin; step-father Jacob Fester; brothers Parker Huff and Jett Fester; grandparents Scott and Linda Huff, Grant and Lori Heithold, Kevin and Krista Chambers, Michael and Kay Fester; great-grandmother Sonya (Ken) Hollenbeck and Marge Benson; uncles James (Brandi) Huff, Blake (Mackenzie) Heithold, Garrett Fester, Kaleb (Hannah) Chambers; aunts Karsin Heithold, Alexis (Corey) McComas; first cousins, Axel and Sloan Huff, Sawyer and Erinn Heithold, Miles and Marley Willard, Summer Heithold, Margo and Jack Heithold, Brylee and Hadley McComas; and a host of second and third cousins and great aunts and uncles.

Penelope grew up in Licking and Rolla, Missouri, and was a sophomore at Licking High School.

Penelope professed her faith in God and was saved. She was a member of Licking High School’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Penelope loved to compete, especially in volleyball. Individually she made the 1st team All-Conference and 1st team All-District volleyball teams in both her freshman and sophomore years and was named Frisco League MVP as a sophomore. She was part of two district championships and two conference tournament championships in 2025 and 2026.  She played club volleyball with Club Phoenix and competed in and won numerous games and tournaments.

In Junior High, Penelope won a state title in the 400 meters and set a school record in the 100-meter dash at 13.35 seconds and won Frisco League MVP in track. As a freshman she made the all-district basketball team, won four individual district titles in track, was part of a track district championship and went on to qualify for three events in the state track meet. She also managed to fit in a season of softball, where she earned a varsity letter. But more than anything, she loved her teammates, her coaches, and the friends she made through sports.

Penelope was a talented artist, winning awards at the Frisco League Art competition, competing with the Junior High as a sixth grader, and continuing as a high schooler. She loved to draw and doodle and there are many examples of her artwork.

Most of all Penelope loved her family and friends, bringing her light everywhere she went. We thank God that she was brought to us, and that we got to watch her grow into a beautiful, smart and extremely loving person. We are going to miss her so much and can’t wait until we get to see her again.

A visitation for Penelope will take place Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 9 to 11:00 a.m. at the Licking Assembly of God Church. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the Licking Assembly of God Church with Pastor David Jett officiating. Burial will follow in Licking Cemetery.
