STORM SIREN TESTING

Testing of the Licking storm sirens is scheduled to take place at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 17.

MO STREAM TEAM OUTING

The public is invited to attend free educational sessions at Montauk State Park promoting the conservation of Missouri’s beautiful streams at the Ozark Fly Fishers 15th Annual Missouri Stream Team Outing, July 18-20. GOSPEL SINGING

New Life Free Will Baptist Church will host Walter Plant in concert at 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 20. All are welcome to attend.

LHS ALL CLASSES REUNION

The LHS All Classes Reunion will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, at Intercounty Electric Auditorium in Licking. All alumni and their guests are invited. No fee event. RSVP (call or text) with John Mitchell at 417-260-0936, or on Facebook event.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Boone Creek Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible School from 6-8:30 p.m., July 27-31, at 10864 Highway 137, Licking. Email boonecreekbaptistchurch@gmail.com to request a registration form.

SCHOOL SUPPLY BASH

Local churches will be at the Intercounty Pavilion in the Old City Park to hand out school supplies for Pre-K through 12th grade for the 2025-26 school year from 5-7 p.m. on August 1, 2025.

KIDS TROUT TOURNAMENT

A kids trout tournament, open to kid 15 and under, will be held August 2 at Montauk State Park, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

ALZHEIMER’S INFORMATIONAL SESSION

Licking Residential Care is partnering with Three Rivers Hospice to present an Alzheimer’s Informational Session at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, August 8. The session will be held at Licking Residential Care, 225 W. Highway 32, Licking. Call 573-674-2207 for more information.

KIDS FREE FISHING DAY

Kids ages 15 and under fish free at Montauk State Park on Saturday, August 9. Kids must pick up a free tag at the lodge Friday evening after 7 p.m. or any time Saturday. Adults must have daily trout tag to assist children fishing.

BUTTERFLY RELEASE

Three Rivers Hospice in Licking will host the first annual Memorial Butterfly Release at 6 p.m. on Friday, August 15, at Licking’s Old City Park. Call 573-674-1127 for more information.

EDGAR PRAIRIE DAYS

Edgar Prairie Days 2025 will take place August 22-24. Little Mr. & Miss contest and Extreme Cowboy Race/Challenge Friday; Saturday is Parade at 11 a.m., Old Time Games & Cornhole at fire department, Hee Haw at the school at 3 p.m., Open Road Band at fire department at 7 p.m. BBQ and gospel singing at fire department begins at 11 a.m. Sunday.

GUN AND QUILT RAFFLE

The Fleet Reserve Association FRA Branch 364 is holding a Gun, Quilt and Large Ceramic Planter Raffle. The raffles are in support of college scholarships. For more information call David Herndon at 417-967-0661.

TEXAS COUNTY MUSEUM OF ART & HISTORY

The Texas County Museum of Art & History and the Book Nook is open for the season. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays and Tuesdays.

RECOVERY UNDERGROUND

Recovery Underground, a local support group, meets at 6 p.m. on Mondays, a Bible study at 6 p.m. on Thursdays, and Church at 6 p.m. on Saturdays, each week at 108 Main Street in Licking. For more information call Jake Carver at 573-889-7785.

GRIEF AND LOSS RECOVERY GROUP

Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday at the Licking United Methodist Church.

FREE ADDICTION RECOVERY CLASS

A program to help you overcome any form of addiction, based on the doctrine of Jesus Christ. If you or a loved one are struggling, please come! Every Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Hwy. 63 and Hwy. E, Houston.

AOG LEGACY SERVICE

The Licking Assembly of God invites all to attend their weekly Legacy Service, held from 1 – 2 p.m. every Wednesday. This non-denominational service was begun to provide an option for those who wish to attend a mid-week service held during daylight hours.

LYNCH TOWNSHIP

Lynch Township’s meetings are the first Thursday of each month at 6 p.m., at the Lynch Township Shed, 14472 Boiling Springs Road.

SONS OF THE AMERICAN LEGION

Sons of the American Legion (SAL) will meet the first Thursday of each month at the Licking VFW Hall. Meet and greet begins at 4 p.m., with the meeting from 6 – 7 p.m.

DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP

The Phelps Health Diabetes Support Group meets the second Tuesday of each month, from 4 to 5 p.m., at the Delbert Day Cancer Institute. Call 573-458-7314 for information.

SHERRILL TOWNSHIP

Sherrill Township meets at 5:30 p.m. every other Thursday at the township shed located at 11875 South 137, in Licking. The next meeting is July 24.

BOONE TOWNSHIP MEETING

Boone Township meets the second Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m. Meeting is at the Township Shed, 16245 Highway AF, Licking.

PARKINSON’S AND CAREGIVERS SUPPORT GROUP

The Phelps Health Parkinson’s and Caregivers Support Group meets the third Tuesday of each month, from 2:30 to 4 p.m., at the Delbert Day Cancer Institute. Call 573-458-3007 for information.

OZARK MOUNTAIN AMATEUR RADIO CLUB

The Ozark Mountain Amateur Radio Club meets the third Saturday of each month, at noon at the Lone Star Annex, 114 W. Main St. in downtown Houston. MONTHLY MOTORCYCLE CRUISE-IN

The MC Cruise-In at Sonic in Licking, with DJs “Lew & Rick” of “The Road Show DJ service” is back. The motorcycles will be rolling in, we have lots & lots of door prizes & most of all friendly people! T-shirts are available for purchase. Cruise-Ins are the last Thursday of each month through September, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Junction of Hwy. 63 & 32. The rain date is the following Thursday from that date. TEXAS COUNTY TRANSPORTATION

Licking Bridge Builders has transportation available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. To ride the bus, please make your appointment at least a day in advance by calling 573-674-3558 and talking with a volunteer.
