Barnes and Gorman advance to Sectionals

The Licking track and field team competed in Class 3 District 5 action last weekend at Cuba High School. Two athletes advanced on to sectional competition placing in the top four at districts: Jadyn Barnes and Keely Gorman.

The girls 4x100m team set a new season best and finished sixth in a stacked field. The team members are Kylee Rinne, Sadie Hutsell, Jayde Thompson and Keely Gorman.

Jadyn Barnes won her third straight district championship in the Javelin. Her throw of 40.81m won by over two meters.

Keely Gorman set new PRs in the 100m and 200m opens, finishing fourth and fifth respectively. She also finished seventh in the Long Jump.

Morgan Stone finished seventh in the discus, sixth in the shot and tenth in the Javelin.

Ava Walker was 15th in discus and 16th in shot.

Kylee Rinne PRd and finished sixth in the 100m hurdles.

Jayde Thompson was tenth in the triple and 12th in the high jump.

Sadie Hutsell was 14th in the pole vault.

Titus Scavone finished 16th in discus and 20th in javelin.

Gio Chalmers was sixth in discus and seventh in shot put.

Ethan Stout set three new PRs and finished eighth in the 100, eighth in the 200 and seventh in the 400m. He was also seventh in the pole vault.

Evan Crow finished 13th in the pole vault.

Tyrone Merdian was 15th in the triple jump.
