Town & Country Bank Vice President and Licking Branch Manager Rawly Gorman met with the third grade classes at Licking Elementary School on Wednesday to hear their thoughts on receiving newspapers in the classrooms. The bank sponsors a program that delivers newspapers to the students each week, to inspire reading.
The young readers were excited to receive the papers, and quickly became involved in scanning the pages for familiar faces or names. Ms. Callie Smith’s class was especially excited to find their teacher in a photograph on the front page.
Students said they like the pictures, puzzles, comics, and reading about things, including recipes. They thanked Mr. Gorman for Town & Country Bank’s sponsorship of the program.
