LICKING 37, BUNKER 25
LICKING, Mo. – The Class 1 state-ranked Bunker Lady Eagles came to the Sherman Hill Fieldhouse on Monday, January 27, to face the Lady ’Cats. Licking jumped out early and never relinquished the lead over the course of the contest. Licking’s game plan was to limit the Bunker high scoring 2-guard and force her teammates to make shots. The game plan worked as Bunker was only able to put 25 points on the board for the night. Licking ran the clock in the fourth to secure the win 37-25.
Allie Hock led in scoring with 14 points, Hadlee Davis tallied 11 points, Keely Gorman 5 points 3 steals, Linzie Wallace 4 points and 9 boards, Zoey Dawson 3 points and 6 boards.
“We did all we could to keep the game slow and force someone other than their stud to beat us. This is a nice win for the girls.” ~ Coach Rissler
LICKING 58, PLATO 43
PLATO, Mo. – Eden Bisker Night: Licking traveled to Frisco League rival Plato on Thursday to face the Lady Eagles for the traveling Eden Bisker Trophy. Licking got a slow start as nine of the 14 girls on the team were battling a form of sickness and trailed after the first quarter. Licking struggled to put much of a run together but did start to pull away from Plato in the second half. Licking won by the final score of 58-43.
Hadlee Davis scored 25 points and added 4 rebounds. Allie Hock scored 17 and had 9 deflections. Linzie Wallace totaled 5 points 7 boards 5 steals, Zoey Dawson 5 rebounds and 7 steals, Kinley Keaton 4 rebounds and 4 points, and Kylee Rinne 3 points.
“This was a weird game from the tip as we hadn’t been able to practice all week due to sickness. The girls gutted out a win and we are glad to keep the Eden Trophy in Licking for another year.” ~ Coach Rissler
