Wildcats win two

LICKING 81, STOUTLAND 66
LICKING, Mo. – On Tuesday, December 10, the Wildcats played their home opener in conference play against the Stoutland Tigers.
The Wildcats jumped out to a 16-7 lead after the first quarter, but then put up 20 more points in the second to take a 36-29 lead at the half.
The Wildcats outscored the Tigers 22-18 in the third quarter to hold on to a 58-47 lead going into the final period. Licking kept up the pace as they outscored Stoutland 23-19 in the fourth quarter for the victory, 81-66.
Roston Stockard was high scorer for the Wildcats at 36. Also in double figures were Carter Sullins with 11 and Jordan Ritz with 10. Karson Walker added 9, Benton Corley 8, and Nate Gambill 7.
With the win, the Wildcats improved to 4-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference.
LICKING 52, STEELVILLE 39
STEELVILLE, Mo. – On Friday, the Wildcats traveled to Steelville to take on the Cardinals.
The Wildcats got off to a slow start, trailing the Cardinals 9-8 after the first quarter. In the second quarter the Wildcats fought back and outscored the Cardinals 12-11, taking a 20-20 tie into halftime.
In the third quarter the Wildcats outscored the Cardinals 18-7, giving them a 38-27 lead going into the fourth quarter. The last quarter saw the Wildcats outscoring the Cardinals 19-12, for a 52-39 victory.
Stockard scored 17, Walker 12, Corley 8, Ritz and Kale Cook 6, Gambill 2, and Kannon Buckner 1.
The Wildcats improved to 5-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference.
