Licking Baseball goes 3-1 on the week

LICKING 3, CROCKER 0

CROCKER, Mo. – Licking traveled to Crocker on Monday, September 16. In the varsity contest, a low scoring game resulted in a Wildcat victory.

Karson Walker took the mound and threw a complete game shutout, allowing four hits, walking one, and striking out one. The Wildcat offense was led by Kannon Buckner, who had two hits in the contest, and Jett Sullins had an RBI. The Wildcats walked five times in the contest, and had four hits.

Jackson Burney was the losing pitcher, surrendering three runs (one earned). Final score 3-0.

Junior Varsity lost 2-1 in five innings.

LICKING 40, NEWBURG 0

NEWBURG, Mo. – On Tuesday, there was more Frisco League action as Licking traveled to Newburg for a varsity only matchup. Licking won big in the contest, with every player reaching base in the contest.

Isaac Rinne was the winning pitcher, and did not allow a runner to reach base. Karson Walker, Kale Cook, and Logan Buckner each had a homerun in the Wildcat victory. Final score 40-0.

LICKING 4, IBERIA 10

LICKING, Mo. – Thursday was a home game for Licking, as they faced off against familiar conference foe Iberia. Tanner Patterson was the winning pitcher in the contest for Iberia, throwing five innings, striking out 10, and surrendering one earned run on three hits. Kannon Buckner was the losing pitcher, but Jordan Ritz made his first pitching appearance of the year, throwing three innings, allowing no hits and no runs.

The Wildcats were paced offensively by Karson Walker with an RBI single and a double by Isaac Rinne. Final score 10-4, Iberia.

Junior Varsity won with a final score of 4-0.

LICKING 14, SEYMOUR 0

LICKING, Mo. – Friday saw another home contest for the Wildcats, as they hosted Seymour.

Offense was in ample supply, as Licking collected eight hits and drove in 14 runs. Cole McCloy had three hits including a double, Karson Walker connected for a two RBI double, and Isaac Rinne added two hits and three RBIs.

The Wildcats were also strong on the mound, as Rinne threw four and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and striking out eight. Conway Adey pitched the final out of the contest, for his first appearance of the season. Final Score 14-0.

Junior Varsity won a nail-biter in three innings, with a 1-0 final score.

The Wildcats will travel to Alton, Van Buren and Gainesville next week, and host West County at home on Saturday.
