Post-season honors announced for Wildcat Baseball

The 2024 Class 3 All State Baseball Team has been announced. Three members of the Licking Wildcat Baseball Team earned the honor this season. Silas Antle (Pitchers), Rusty Buckner (Outfield) and Keyton Cook (DH/Utility) all received First Team All-State honors.
The 2024 Class 3 District 9 All District Baseball Team has also been announced and contains five members of the Licking Wildcats. A single team was selected and included Rusty Buckner, Silas Antle, Kellar Davis, Keyton Cook and Kale Cook.
Frisco League All Conference honors went to Rusty Buckner, who was also named Conference MVP, Silas Antle, Keyton Cook and Kellar Davis, with honorable mention going to Kale Cook.
The Iberia Rangers finished the season on top of the conference with a record of 6-0, followed by Licking (6-1), Crocker (4-2), Dixon (3-3), Plato (3-3), Stoutland (2-4), Laquey (1-5) and Richland (0-6). Iberia finished first in the State Class 2 Tournament, and Iberia Coach Tim Vinson was named Conference Coach of the Year.
Other Texas County or Frisco League athletes earning All-State honors included, from Class 3, Houston athletes Stone Jackson (Infield) was named First Team, Wyatt Hughes (Pitcher) Second Team, and Aiden Kelly (Catchers) received Honorable Mention. In Class 2, from Iberia, Tanner Patterson (Pitchers), Noah Riemensider (Pitchers) and Logan Seel (Catchers) were named First Team and Hunter Piggott (Infield) Second Team; from Crocker, Jackson Burney (DH/Utility) was named First Team; and from Summersville, Garrin Greear (Outfield) was named Second Team and Dalton Hartman (Pitchers) received Honorable Mention.
Class 3 Academic All State Teams were announced earlier, and the Licking High School Baseball Team, with an average GPA of 3.63, not only made the list but ranked eighth in Class 3 in the state. LHS athlete/scholars earning Academic All State honors included Cole McCloy, Karson Walker, Isaac Rinne, Kellar Davis, Keyton Cook, Kannon Buckner, Austin Stephens and Silas Antle.
