FRA Americanism Essay Contest

Petty Officer FC2 William Hutsell (left) presented Licking R-VIII 7th grader Scott Warwick with a trophy and check for Warwick’s third place regional win in the Fleet Reserve Association’s Americanism Essay Contest. Warwick also received a certificate, blue ribbon and $75 for his first place win in the local level. The contest, which promotes the spirit of Americanism and patriotism, is for students in grades 7 – 12. Eighteen area students participated at the local level. Winners advance to North Central Region competition, and if placing first in regional competition students would advance to National competition for a chance at the Grand Prize.
