Six Licking Track athletes advance to State

Licking High School Track & Field competed at Blue Eye in the Sectional round of the State tournament for Class 2 Track & Field. The Licking Girls Team finished second overall in Sectionals, and six athletes qualified for the State meet at Jefferson City High School on Friday, May 17, .

The Girls 4x100m relay of Finley Sullins, Keely Gorman, Kylee Rinne and Hannah Medlock broke their own school record, with a time of 52.63 sec., placing second and qualifying for State. They were 0.07 sec. behind first place Marionville.

Sullins also qualified for State in Long Jump (second place), 100m (second place), and 200m (third place and a personal record).

Jadyn Barnes took first in Javelin, and will go to State.

Sadie Hutsell qualified for State, placing third in Pole Vault.

Gorman placed fifth in Long Jump and seventh in the 100m. Medlock finished sixth in High Jump and she did her personal best in Triple Jump to place 6th. Rinne ran a personal best to finish seventh in the 100m Hurdles. The 4x200m relay of Rinne, Gorman, Hutsell and Medlock placed seventh. Morgan Stone was sixth in Discus and Ava Walker threw a personal best for eighth place in Discus.

For the Licking Boys, Gio Chalmers placed sixth in Discus; the 4x100m relay of Derek Mendenhall, Tyrone Fallert, Dominick Donley and Ethan Stout finished sixth with their personal best time; Stout took sixth in Pole Vault; and the 4x200m relay of Mendenhall, Fallert, Donley and Stout finished seventh.
